6 Days Tsavo East, Chyulu Hills and Amboseli Safari

This safari is for the extreme naturalist who would appreciate seeing an incredibly rare antelope species, the hirola or Hunter’s hartebeest. There are perhaps a few hundred left in the wild today, all of them in Tsavo East, Kenya. Explore Tsavo, see some of Africa’s biggest elephant alive today and end your safari at Mount Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills.

Day 1 Nairobi

You’ll be met when you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International in Nairobi, Kenya, and transferred to Eka Hotel in Nairobi. Overnight at the Eka Hotel, with breakfast included.

Day 2: Nairobi – Tsavo East

Pick up from House of Waine to Tsavo West National Park departing at 0600h. Tsavo East National Park is the largest national park in Kenya and is dominated by grass and bush savannah and semi-desert steppes. Arrival at Voi Wildlife lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon you could head for a game drive in the Park where you will have to cross the Galana River. You will be able to see the beautiful landscapes of Kenya with different plantations as you drive through. Meals and overnight at Voi Wildlife lodge. (full board)

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park

Spend the next full day in Tsavo East with unlimited game drives as per your convenience. You will have a good chance of seeing different wildlife species and birds. The park’s habitats include open plains alternating with Savannah bush and semi-desert scrub, acacia woodlands, rocky ridges and outcrops, and extensive ranges. There are numerous rocky outcrops and ridges. Meals and overnight at Voi Wildlife lodge. (Fullboard)

Day 4: Chyulu Hills and Amboseli

After a heavy delicious breakfast, depart with picnic Lunches to the famous Chyulu Hills National Park where you will spend the rest of the afternoon. Chyulu is a beautiful Park which boasts of magnificent scenery. This is a truly magical area of ragged craters, rolling grassland, exotic aromatic plants and cedar forests not forgetting the diverse wildlife. Meals and overnight at AA Amboseli Lodge. (Fullboard)

Day 5: Amboseli and its elephant

Amboseli National Park is such a spectacular setting that you don’t have to go far to find attractive views or a good game. You do, however, have the option to go down to the Amboseli swamps, which is recommended in the dry season (July to end October) to see huge elephant herds gathering at the swamps. The clear mornings are wonderful for photographing Mount Kilimanjaro with Amboseli elephants in the foreground. Overnight at AA Amboseli Lodge. (fullboard)

Day 6: Amboseli – Nairobi

After breakfast leave for the last game drive in the park as you leave the Amboseli Park for Nairobi with hot lunch served en-route arriving in Nairobi late afternoon with sweet memories. Drop off your hotel or airport where you’ll fly back home.
